Indonesian Trade Office
The Government of Indonesia directs trade-related policy development via its Ministry of Trade (Kementerian Perdagangan). The ministry’s structure, based on Presidential Decree No. 11/2022 and Ministry of Trade Decree No. 29/2022, includes offices for the Minister and Deputy Minister of Trade, a General Secretariat, Bureaus for Finance, Legal Affairs, Human Resources, and Public Relations, along with various centres for public affairs and trade education.
Serving the General Secretariat, several centres offer strategic studies, training, and data services. The ministry also oversees several Directorates-General, each covering a specific scope of domestic and foreign trade, focusing on subjects from consumer protection to export development. A supervising Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency, a Trade Policies Agency, and the Inspectorate General are integral parts of the ministry’s structure.
Additionally, the ministry has numerous subsidiary agencies, including the National Consumer Protection Agency and Trade Attachés stationed at various Indonesian Embassies worldwide. It is also responsible for multiple Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers and includes special offices focused on trade with Taipei and Hong Kong.
